Alan has been working in the IT industry since 2003 and have accumulated just over 20 years of experience in various IT roles in different business sectors and technical disciplines. Alan is a Microsoft Certified Professional with a specialisation in Microsoft Cloud Platform & Infrastructure (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) including Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Office 365, as well as on premises Windows Server Infrastructure solutions (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) specifically Microsoft Exchange Server, Active Directory and Hyper-V Virtualization. Alan also have extensive knowledge and experience of the Google Cloud Platform and am certified Professional Cloud Architect and Google Cloud Authorized Trainer. Alan also works with AWS architecture, integrations and migrations.
Alan has worked in various roles including field service, remote support, system administration, system engineering, cloud architecture, IT security and team leadership. Alan has been heavily involved in various projects relating to scoping and building or migrating various Microsoft Server and Cloud technologies - including Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, ISA/ Forefront TMG, Microsoft Azure and Office 365. Alan also has extensive experience with virtualization including Microsoft Hyper V and VMware technologies which includes building and supporting data centre virtualization as well as private and hybrid cloud solutions. In January 2020 Alan founded Ruck Cloud, an independent cloud consulting firm based in Cape Town, South Africa and London, United Kingdom working with customers worldwide on cloud consulting engagements using Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. Ruck Cloud has since become a Google Cloud Partner and has worked on various consulting and training projects with Google customers. Ruck Cloud is a growing cloud consultancy also offering DevOps, cloud native development and AI services to startups through to enterprise and government.
